A 21st Century Workforce pipeline in the heart of Sunset Park

The BioBAT 21st Century Workforce Development initiative’s goal is to create a science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) pipeline that starts with Brooklyn students and ends with a local 21st Century workforce. BioBAT’s commitment to education, outreach, and engagement encourages New York City students to pursue careers in science and rewards science educators committed to their students.

Our Director of STEAM Programs

Allison Demas

Allison Demas is a veteran educator specializing in early childhood education. It is her philosophy that students should be provided ample opportunities to explore and construct knowledge through hands-on activities discovering the interdependence of our world. It is through such experiences that students develop a desire for knowledge allowing them to move through life with joy, integrity, and technical skills. It is this belief that guides her work with the BioBAT STEAM camp.
